Hummm! Sounds like HR has dreamt up another torture for workers or you have to come up with BS for your business Adm. degree. Personal: a balanced life, good relations with co workers in and out of work, no drama at home, many friends, healthful practices, good grooming at home, good financial condition, no drug use, no addictions, many outside interests

Professional: quest for more knowledge of the company, good team player, respect for superiors, adherence to main goals of the company, desire to advance, quest for more education to enhance performance, readiness and enthusiasm to perform to the highest degree, total loyalty, ability to read all new corporate papers, ability to learn the constant new computer programs, no matter how ridiculous the developers have created these beastly things, open mindedness, friendly spirit towards new and younger employees with fresh ideas, proper time routine, never tardy, willingness to take on new tasks, willingness to participate in company outdoor exercises such as, I forgot the term, weekend retreats.

An answer to such a question can be discovered within the particular ideology of any one political leader. Now, of course, a 'leftist" politician will inevitably look unfavorably upon interests pertaining to business, or "big-business" to say the least and any economic structure that incorporates a "top-down" element, essentially giving the economic incentives to the leaders and managers of businesses ASSUMING they will "properly" disburse the incentives given to them by the government. Essentially, I believe there to be some truth to the above-mentioned statement. Realistically, there is no means by which to predict the direction of such managers when given such economic and financial incentives with which they are encouraged to build upon, not only for the sake of its economic and financial endeavors, but for the sake of its employers and the consumers-at-large. The main problem, I presume, is that there is, nonetheless, an immense tug-of-war between the two political and economic extremes within American politics and society. Perhaps, this is wherein the answer may lie. Perhaps there ought to be some give and take amongst the parties. There is too much competition as to which party will succeed in creating a "blanket" society in which there will be only one party whose economic and social perspectives will prevail, no questions asked. However, if there is a question to be asked, it ought to be within the ball park of "Why must certain economic policies exist with only certain social policies and regulations?" and vice-verse. Must economic de-regulation be coupled with heavy social regulation, and must social de-regulation be coupled with heavy economic regulation?

Which new policies are you reffering to?? I like your question, it makes very clear the priorities of the conservatives. By your own admission President Obama's policies help the people who "do the work". A great working environment that pays its employees fairly always works in the business' favour in the long run. Look at Ford for example, once they started focusing on doing things the right way (environmentally friednly, pro-worker policies) they've turned their fortunes around. Other examples are Google and Microsoft, they both have VERY worker friendly environments.

It amazes me that anybody could actually try to argue against that, but then again, that is what conservatives are all about, hurting the workers and helping the wealthy.

I was going to say he couldn't, until I saw your continued comments. Unfortunately, he is just as business-focused as all the other administrations. He cannot seem to see the dichotomy. He keeps trying to help the people in direct opposition to the corporate world and failing every time. But he remains beholden to his corporate masters just as all the other politicians are. Campaign finance reform is the only thing that will change this, but unfortunately, the SC ruled last year that we should just accept the situation because corporations should be able to run elections.

It's not that he or the other politicians have a business mindset. It's that they are dependent on them for money and thus will do nothing that does not benefit them in some way.

Yes, for many years "businesses have been the focus of government and special interest" and that worked out sooo well for us. In case you missed it, the conservative agenda failed spectacularly, so perhaps it's time to try something else. Trickle down didn't work. Supply side didn't work. Neo Con nation building didn't work. Oh, that's right NOTHING WORKED with the conservative agenda. Frankly I don't think ceding more power to corporations and redistributing the wealth to the top two percent has not been all that good for your country.

Obama knows diddly squat about operating a business or a budget and apparently neither do his Maoist advisors. That's why he's putting us into a deeper hole.
